【摘要】:Theabilitytohaveasufficientopenassemblytimeiscriticalwhenbondingacarpet.Anadhesivewithtooshortanopenassemblytimewillnotallowtheinstallerenoughtimetopositionthecarpetbeforetheadhesiveisdriedbeyonduse.Aproductwithtoolonganopenassemblytimewillnotprovideenoughdrytimeforthecarpettobondtotheintendedsubstratewithoutmovementofthecarpet.Thetestmethodprovidesameansofmeasuringtheopenassemblytimeforanadhesive.Useofsuchatestmethodcanaidboththemanufacturertodevelopandtheusertoselecttheappropriateadhesivefortheinstallationofcarpet.TestMethodC679wasusedasamodelforthistestmethod.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesaproceduretomeasureopenassemblytimeforatroweledcarpetadhesive.1.2Thistestmethodprovidesanevaluationoftheabilityofanadhesivetoeffectivelywetouttheintendedcarpetbacking.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
