【摘要】:Thispracticeaddressestherecordingoftrafficcharacteristics,usingpneumatictubingwithrecordingdevices.Thispracticeprovidesinformationforusewithprofessionaljudgmentbygovernmentalagenciesandprivatefirmsinthemanagementofroadsandroadwaytraffic.Trafficmonitoringisimportanttothesafeandefficientmovementofpeopleandgoods.Thepurposeofthispracticeistoensurethattrafficmonitoringproceduresproducetrafficdataandsummarystatisticsthatareadequatetosatisfydiverseandcriticaltrafficinformationneeds.1.1Thispracticecoverstheuseofpneumaticroadtubestodetectthepassingofload-bearingvehicleaxlesaspartofroadwaytrafficmonitoring.1.2Thepracticeappliesonlytopneumaticroadtubesusedforthedetectionofload-bearingvehicleaxlesonaroadway.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Theinch-poundunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
