【摘要】:Thisguideprovidestechniquesforobtainingrepresentativesamplesofoilandwatermixtures.Thisinformationisnecessaryinthecalculationofoilrecoveryefficiencyandoilrecoveryratesforoilcollectiondevices.SamplingStationaryMixtures8212;Whenrecoveredoil/watermixturesarecontainedwithinaholdingtankandtherelativeoilcontentoftherecoveredfluidisneeded,thesamplingtechniqueissomewhatdependentonthecontainer.Twotechniquesareoutlinedinthisguide.Ifthecontainerhasaflatbottomwithstraightsidesperpendiculartothebase(ornearlyso),eitherstationarytechniquecanbeimplemented,withthestratifiedsamplingmethodpreferred.Ifthecontainerisirregularineitherthehorizontalorverticalcrosssection,themixingmethodispreferred.SamplingFlowingMixtures8212;Tosampleflowingmixturescontainingbothoilandwater,turbulenceisinduced,tocreateahomogenousmixturewhilesampling.Theoilcontentinthesampletakenfromtheflowingstreamcanthenbeusedtoquantifytheperformance-ratingcriterion(seeProcedureSectionofTestMethodD1796).1.1Thisguideisintendedforsamplingflowingorstationaryoil/watermixtures.Itisintendedforusewithoilspillrecoverydeviceseitherintestingorindocumentationoffieldperformance.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
