【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoverstherequirementsforelectroplatednickelcoatingsappliedtometalproductsforengineeringapplications,forexample,foruseasabuildupformismachinedorwornparts,forelectronicapplications,includingasunderplatesincontactsorinterconnections,andincertainjoiningapplications.1.2Electroplatingofnickelforengineeringapplications(Note1)requirestechnicalconsiderationssignificantlydifferentfromdecorativeapplicationsbecausethefollowingfunctionalpropertiesareimportant:1.2.1Hardness,strength,andductility,1.2.2Wearresistance,1.2.3Loadbearingcharacteristics,1.2.4Corrosionresistance,1.2.5Heatscalingresistance,1.2.6Frettingresistance,and1.2.7Fatigueresistance.Note18212;Functionalelectroplatednickelcoatingsusuallycontainabout99%nickel,andaremostfrequentlyelectrodepositedfromaWattsnickelbathoranickelsulfamatebath.Typicalmechanicalpropertiesofnickelelectroplatedfromthesebaths,andthecombinedeffectofbathoperationandsolutioncompositionvariablesonthemechanicalpropertiesoftheelectrodepositaregiveninGuideB832.Whenelectroplatednickelisrequiredtohavehigherhardnesses,greaterwearresistance,certainresidualstressvaluesandcertainlevelingcharacteristics,sulfurandothersubstancesareincorporatedinthenickeldepositthroughtheuseofcertainadditionagentsintheelectroplatingsolution.Fortheeffectofsuchadditives,seeSection4andAnnexA3.Cobaltsaltsaresometimesaddedtotheplatingsolutiontoproducehardernickelalloydeposits.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
